On the banks of the Black River, Pocahontas is 45 minutes north of Jonesboro. Bisected by Highway 67 and Hwy 62W, Pocahontas is about 13 miles north of Walnut Ridge and about a 10 minute drive to Williams Baptist College and Black River Technical College. With a friendly small-town population of 6,518, Pocahontas is the seat of Randolph County, which also includes the incorporated villages of Maynard, Biggers, Reyno, Ravenden Springs and O'Kean. It features 5 rivers: The Eleven Point, Black, Current, Spring & Fourche.

Pocahontas is approximately 15 miles south of the Missouri border, 110 miles northwest of Memphis, 130 miles northeast of Little Rock.
